Hannah Alcoba, MA LMHCA

As someone who suffers from autoimmune illnesses, I feel particularly passionate about empowering individuals who feel lost, powerless, unseen and unheard. Whether it’s from chronic pain, a destructive relationship, or general directionlessness, my work as a therapist focuses on providing individuals with confidence to move in a direction that is congruent with their values and goals.

I primarily operate from approaches that are strengths-based and holistic which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Lifespan Integration (LI). The goal of ACT is to teach you that pain is unavoidable, but greater acceptance and flexibility of your experience can be catalysts in living more authentically to your values and goals. SFT emphasizes your strengths and we will work collaboratively to reach creative solutions to your concerns. In addition, I may pull concepts from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help you build practical skills to promote your healing process, whether that be mindfulness visualizations or distress tolerance skills.

My style of therapy is creative and imagery-filled, to help you embody who you are at the core of your being; the way you were created, an image-bearer. We all know what it’s like to be told of our inabilities, shortcomings, and flaws. They become ingrained so quickly into our network of thoughts that it seems impossible to shake them off. But, I fully believe in the power of healing truths that break off the chains of negativity that keep people captive.

As your counselor, I will be devoted to your healing journey through grace, compassion, and patience. I will walk alongside you as we unravel your pain and begin to create a new tapestry, woven with meaning, purpose, vitality, and joy.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University, and have specialized training in Lifespan Integration.
