Jill Karber, MA LMHCA

Outwardly you look like you have it all together; but on the inside, you are riddled with self-doubt, fear or overwhelming sadness. You wonder, “Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?” Nothing you have done to calm your mind is working and you’re barely holding it together. You can’t continue the way you are now. You want to find a way out of the anxiety and depression that steals your joy and interferes with your ability to be the best version of yourself. You are ready to begin a new journey. There is hope! You can find healing that will empower you to forge a better future.

My Counseling Approach

My role in your journey to wholeness is to guide you on your unique path to recovery by providing a safe space to express feelings, explore thoughts and learn new skills for navigating your mental and emotional health more effectively. I have experience in the following approaches to help us achieve your goals for better mental health:

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy
  • Emotion Focused Therapy
  • Grief Counseling
  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Brainspotting

As a person of faith, I believe that all individuals deserve to be treated with the highest level of dignity and respect. This inspires me to approach everyone with the greatest care and concern in helping them find their way to discovering a new vision for their future. My heart and life’s calling are to help those feeling hopeless find freedom and hope in their darkest moments.

Stressful events can have a great impact on our lives and one’s emotional and mental well-being. Whether the challenge is caused by childhood trauma, current trauma, or a season of depression or anxiety, I am dedicated to helping you find a way through the pain to a better future. My work as a therapist has been largely dedicated to victims of sexual assault, those struggling with painful wounds from harmful church experiences, grief and loss, couples looking for ways to strengthen their relationship, and adolescents/young adults struggling with anxiety and depression.

About Me

I hold an A.A. degree in Leadership and Ministry, B.S. in Psychology and M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. A large part of my experience includes working with adolescents, young adults, women, men, sexual abuse victims, facilitating 12-step recovery groups, couples and Brainspotting to assist those struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I have called Northwest Washington home for 40+ years. The sight of the evergreen trees that greet me on the homestretch from Seattle to Bellingham when returning from a vacation never grows old. My husband of 27 years and I have raised three children here. I am so grateful for the sense of community that exists wherever you go in this beautiful State.

Call for consultation and to set up your first appointment. I look forward to hearing from you.
