Tereasa Smith, MA LMHCA

My goal is to help you to discover a route to well-being through self-awareness and self-acceptance. I utilize cognitive behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness therapy. The thoughts and narratives that we create for ourselves can become a negative crutch that we believe as truth. I cultivate a safe environment where you can explore those thoughts and find some peace within yourself. Let’s challenge those maladaptive narratives that have gotten in the way of living your best life and learn to accept the roadblocks that may have caused difficulties. I believe people are experts on their own lives and I here to facilitate the journey toward understanding what is getting in the way of happiness. A goal toward healing would be to discover the strengths already within you and shed the negative thoughts that have been causing pain and suffering.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. I earned a BA in Family and Human Development in 2018 and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health in 2021. My background is 19 years of leadership and management where I created a welcoming space for individuals to learn, develop, and promote through establishing strong working/therapeutic relationships and providing unconditional positive regard. I have experience working with individuals from teens to those in middle age and couples either married or cohabitating.

About me:

I am a Washington native. I grew up in rural Eastern Washington and have been on the west side since 1993. I am a wife and a mother to 2; one in high school and the other is launched. We have a chihuahua named Rocco that may attend sessions from time to time depending on the comfortability of the clients. I enjoy movies, hiking, travel, and just hanging out with friends and family. If you feel as if I would be a good fit as you explore your journey toward wellness, please contact me at tereasa@healingandrestorationcounseling.com.
