Nakita Cutter, MS LMHCA

Welcome! I am so glad you are here. I am a dedicated professional helping people overcome hardship and improve their lives. I am passionate about client care and developing a therapeutic rapport. I believe that our emotional health depends on our abilities to embrace our feelings, move toward social interest and attaining goals of self-worth in relationships, work, and life in general. Our emotional and mental health suffers when there are inconsistencies between the image we have of ourselves and the world around us. My goal is to help clients gain an accurate perception of who they are in the world and the world that surrounds them by giving clients the support and tools that are needed to traverse the difficult terrains of life. My primary counseling approach is person-centered using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These treatment modalities provide a client with skills to help deal with difficult emotions and interpersonal conflicts that are needed to cope with strenuous circumstances. It helps clients utilize mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulations and interpersonal effectiveness to help better manage their life.

Education/Experiences

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. I earned my BS in Sociology in 2015 and my Master of Science in Clinical Counseling in 2017. My background includes working with women of domestic violence, PTSD and trauma, pre-teens and teens struggling to find their strengths and acceptance. I enjoy working with pre-teens and teenagers by helping them develop their self-esteem and teaching them tools they need to navigate the world they live in.

About Me

I was born and raised in Kansas and moved to WA in 2017. I am a survivor of a domestic violence marriage and am now remarried to a wonderful man and the grandmother of 2 wonderful granddaughters which is what made me decide to move to WA state. I love spending time with my family and exploring all the beauty WA offers.
